I love Tartankiwi Patterns‘ paper piecing templates. They’re realistic enough to not look kitschy, but still have character. And of all the paper piecing I’ve tried, they’re by far the easiest to follow. So when my sweet and steadfast colleague told me she was going for a woodland animal theme for her son Harrison’s nursery, I couldn’t resist trying out the deer, fox and hedgehog. I had so much fun bringing these little characters to life in oranges!

I quilted the baby quilt in rows of trees to match the theme:

And backed it with this sweet orange plaid flannel I’d been saving for the right quilt:
