The older I’ve gotten, the more crisply I can feel the impact of friendships from when I was younger – the people who have seen me at my worst, at my wildest, at my most lost, at my most joyous. All the moments before steadiness that only a select few will ever know.

I wasn’t always grateful enough for it in the moment, but I look back and know those friendships shaped me. This quilt image is tied to many old stories and was made for the son of my closest childhood friend. I stitched it with each of those emotions and gratitude.
