Quilted Prayer: Bessy’s Half Square Triangle Quilt

I don’t often hand-quilt. But for this quilt, a Half Square Triangle Quilt inspired by Red Pepper’s Quilts, it felt like a necessity.

Being away from home and family is often hard – and this was one of those times. Bess was like a second mother to me growing up, and being far away from her while she battled cancer left me feeling helpless. So naturally, I put that energy into a quilt for her. In this case, each stitch felt like a prayer – for her strength and health.
